TELECOMMUNICATIONS
Windstream Communications is the incumbent local exchange carrier and serves the communities in Fillmore County with all of its most popular service plans: fiber optic local exchange telephone service, wireless service, interexchange long distance service, and business equipment and service in Geneva and surrounding communities.

Dark Fiber Solutions (DFS) provides 100 percent fiber optic-based, IP transport services, web development, Local Area Network Management, on‑site computer repair and support, and a variety of associated services. Service bandwidths provided to customers range from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps. The availability of high bandwidth services allow customers to deploy advanced technologies such as “Big Pipe,” Internet services, IP‑based security systems, IP‑based video conferencing, and voice‑over IP. Every DFS‑provided network includes network monitoring and support as a part of the standard service offering.
Geneva Broadband is the newest communications provider in Geneva and provides services in the Geneva area. Geneva Boardband's Internet services are built on a fiber optic network. Geneva Boardband offers full service computer repair, Local Area Network support and engineering design services to residential and business customers.

Diverse fiber routes as well as redundant fiber routes are available from Fillmore County to Omaha and to Denver. Lit service capacity ranges from OC‑n 3 to 192 and Ethernet from 10 Mbps to 10 Gig.
